Description
A natural remedy for atopic eczema and severe dry skin conditions.
What is eczema?
Eczema is a general term used to describe various inflamed skin conditions. One of the most commonly found type of eczema is atopic dermatitis ( or “atopic eczema”). Based on statistics, about one in every five people at some time in their lives is affected by this chronic, very itchy rash.
Eczema affects the skin’s ability to act as a healthy barrier to retain adequate moisture. The skin may become more susceptible to skin disease and more sensitive to the use of water, chemicals and other irritants. Eczema typically develops on the face, neck, and the insides of the elbows, knees and ankles.
The symptoms are dry, red and very itchy patches on the skin. The itch can become so intense that a sufferer feel compelled to scratch until the skin bleeds.
What is dry skin?
Dry skin is also a very commonly found symptom: skin loses moisture, cracks, and peels and becomes very itchy. Severe dry skin areas can develop into atopic dermatitis.
How eczema and dry skin are treated?
The key to treatment is effectively moisturizing the skin. There are a number of options, which can be used as moisturizers, e.g. oils, lotions, creams or ointments. But an ointment is the preferred choice since it has a very high oil content and in general provide a much stronger barrier to water loss as well as re-hydrating the skin compared to oils and creams.
Mary Ginseng House’s Ginseng Ointment is a non-steroid, all-natural emollient made of ginseng essential oil and extracts from other natural plants. The active ingredients of ginseng and essential oils from natural plants provide the effects of decreasing skin inflammation, soothing and reducing itchiness, keeping the skin smooth and soft, rejuvenating the skin, and eliminating cracks and scaly lesion developed from over scratching. Ginseng contains vitamins A, C, and E, which help strengthen, repair, and fight against harmful bacteria. Essential amino acids found in our Ginseng help to repair damaged tissues, and help rebuild healthy skin tissue, helping to soften hardened and calloused tissue.
